Chelsea started her editing career at Glencoe/McGraw-Hill in 2003 as an intern while attaining her degree in English from California State University, Northridge. After graduating, she became an Associate Editor for the Computer Technology Education group. A few years later she took on the role of Editor for Family and Consumer Sciences. During her time with the company she was a project manager for textbooks and ancillary materials such as teacher editions, student workbooks and e-newsletters. She was responsible for maintaining budgets and schedules, as well as collaborating with authors, editors, customers, marketing and sales.
In 2008, Chelsea decided to pursue a career as an independent contractor. She started Chelsea Baxter Editorial Services and now works out of her home in sunny Southern California. Her services include proofreading, writing, copy and developmental editing, search engine optimization, project management and more. She has edited and written content for websites, magazines, newspapers and books. Some of her clients include HowToMedia.Inc, McGraw-Hill Education and Harvard Business School Publishing.
